How do you say it in Spanish?

    What you need to know

    • From 0 to 15, every number has its own name. From 16 to 29 they’re one word: dieciséis, veintidós. Four of them carry an accent: 16, 22, 23 and 26.
    • From 31 to 99, you join the ten and the unit with y: treinta y cinco, noventa y nueve. That’s the only stretch that uses y, and 100 on its own is cien.
    • Before a noun, uno shortens to un (masculine) or changes to una (feminine): un libro, una mesa, veintiún años, treinta y una personas.

    Numbers in Spanish: common questions

Which Spanish numbers are easiest to mix up when you listen?

Sesenta (60) and setenta (70) are the classic pair: listen for the s or the t in the middle. After that come doce (12) and dos (2), trece (13) and treinta (30), and cuatro (4) and catorce (14). The "Listen and type" mode above is the best place to train your ear for them, since you only hear the number.

How do people read phone numbers in Spanish?

Very often two digits at a time: 55 28 61 94 is cincuenta y cinco, veintiocho, sesenta y uno, noventa y cuatro. You’ll also hear people read one digit at a time, and a zero is cero. If you’re the one giving the number, digit by digit is always fine.

Does the numbers in Spanish quiz count missing accents?

It accepts the answer and shows you the accent. On paper you need it: dieciséis, veintidós, veintitrés and veintiséis are the four numbers up to 100 that carry one, plus veintiún before a masculine noun.

Can I print the numbers in Spanish worksheet?

Yes. The "Print the worksheet" button gives you the exercises on one page and the answer key on another, so you can use it in class or at home without the screen.
