Spanish Body Parts Practice
See the body part and type its name, listen and type, or choose from four. Below, a worksheet with an answer key on me duele, oreja vs oído, and words that are easy to mix up.
What you need to know
- Some body parts are easy to mix up: rodilla is the knee, cadera is the hip and espalda is the back.
- Oreja is the outer ear and oído is the inner ear, so an earache is dolor de oído.
- To say something hurts, the verb doler works like gustar (me duele la cabeza, me duelen los pies), and the body part takes the article, not "my."

Body parts in Spanish: common questions
What's the difference between oreja and oído?
Oreja is the outer ear, the part you can see. Oído is the inner ear, and also your hearing. That's why an earache is dolor de oído.
How do you say "my head hurts" in Spanish?
Me duele la cabeza. The verb doler works like gustar: the body part is the subject, so it's duele with one body part and duelen with more than one (me duelen los pies). And the body part takes the article, not a word for "my."
Is hair pelo or cabello in Spanish?
Both. Pelo is the everyday word (tengo el pelo largo), and cabello sounds a bit more formal, like in a shampoo commercial.
