    Watch out

Intentar means “to try,” not “to intend” (that's tener la intención de). It goes straight to the infinitive: intento hablar todos los días.

    Examples with intentar

Intento hablar español todos los días.

I try to speak Spanish every day.

    Mexico

    Intenté llamarte.

    I tried to call you.

    Spain

    Intentamos de nuevo.

    We tried again.
