    Watch out

Singing to someone uses an indirect object: le cantamos las mañanitas (Mexico's birthday song). And in slang, cantar means to confess or spill everything: el detenido cantó todo.

    Examples with cantar

Le cantamos las mañanitas a mi abuela.

We sang Las Mañanitas to my grandma.

    Mexico

Mi hermana cantaba en un coro.

My sister used to sing in a choir.

    Argentina

    ¿Cantarías en mi boda?

Would you sing at my wedding?

    Colombia
